Don't homeschool alone. Get involved in a homeschool support group where you can get help throughout the year and find social activities for your children. Homeschool support groups come in all flavors: Christian, Catholic, Secular, Special Needs, etc. Find the one that meets your particular needs and get involved. Homeschool Resource Organizations

  • OCHEC. (Oklahoma Christian Home Educators Consociation) is a statewide homeschool support organization directed by Christian leaders to serve and help anyone who strongly desires to teach his or her children at home. Offers Capitol Day, Conventions in both OKC and Tulsa, Support Groups, Informer Newsletter, Get Started booklet, Art/Photo Contests, and Workshops. Contact info: Phone: 405-521-8439.   • OKHSMoms Info Group: A yahoo group by Ellen Latimer that provides encouragment and LOTS of free information for Oklahoma homeschool moms on what's happening in Oklahoma that is of interest to homeschoolers. I highly recommend signing up for this group. (Also a good friend of mine!) There are more e-groups listed below.

  • Cornerstone Tutorial Center located at 3160A S. 129th E. Ave., Tulsa, offers academic counseling to homeschooling families. Contact them at 664-9527 or by email homeschoolconsultant@valornet.com.

  • HERO: HERO of Oklahoma's primary purpose is to provide information concerning the many local and state educational resources available to Oklahoma home educators.  As a network of homeschooling families and support groups, HERO of Oklahoma also helps families connect with each other through their web site, gatherings, and e-mail discussion groups. Information on this website includes recommended lawyers for homeschoolers, booklist, shopping info, and much more.
  • T.H.E. (Tulsa Home Educators), published by Linda Duntley, is a subscription-based newsletter for homeschool parents that provides information on local support groups and community activities open to homeschoolers in the Tulsa metro area. Oklahoma Support Groups (alphabetical):

  • AMBLEcommunity (Tulsa). We are a community of home-educating families in the Tulsa, Ok area. We gather weekly for a nature walk, a field trip, or a park day. The moms come together twice a month to discuss the Charlotte Mason method and to encourage and pray for each other as we create the educational life we desire for our families.

  • Central Oklahoma Homeschool Enrichment (COHE) exists to supplement the homeschool community by providing quality high school level courses in a Christian environment taught by experienced instructors that love young people and are enthusiastic about their subject matter. COHE meets on Wednesdays from mid-August through April at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Northwest Oklahoma City.   • (CHEER) Christian Home Educators Encouragement Resource. The CHEER Support Group is a group of 50+ homeschool families in the Broken Arrow and Tulsa, Oklahoma area who support and encourage each other and provide tools to help each family achieve excellence in their homeschool.     CHEF - Tulsa (Christian Home Educators Fellowship). CHEF of Oklahoma is open to any homeschool family who signs their statement of faith.   • Claremore and Pryor Group. This group is open to any homeschooling families, regardless of religious beliefs or curriculum being taught. Our group meets at least once a month for playdates and field trips, plus we have a private facebook group where members can discuss homeschool-related issues.   • Edmond Home Educators' Support Group: We offer field trips, mom's fellowship, educational events, social get togethers, website information, and yahoo group discussion.   • F.A.I.T.H. Educational Alliance.
    We are a family based Christian support group for the Tulsa area. We have 2 co-ops, extra classes, monthly family outings, living history events, several children's clubs, field trips and more. We have fellowships for both moms and dads as well. We alternate between monthly business/support meetings and informational workshops. We have an active online bulletin board and email newsletter.   • Fort Sill/Lawton. Home School Association for Military Families. We provide resources, support and community to military homeschoolers nationwide. Our group at Fort Sill currently participates in foreign language, swim classes, mom's nights out, field trips, Odyssey of the Mind and more. Information can be found on our website at www.hsamf.org.   • Great Plains Home Educators, Hydro and surrounding areas. Support, activities, and co-op.

  • Green Country HERO (Green Country Home Educators Resource Organization) was established to provide support for homeschoolers in the greater Tulsa area. The group is open to all homeschoolers and is Christian based. We provide a wide variety of social and educational opportunities, all organized by group members. Benefits include the following: a monthly newsletter, a member directory, use of our lending library, an HSLDA discount, bi-monthly business meetings, and monthly moms' night out.   • Grove Homeschool was formed to connect area homeschool families in sharing ideas, curriculum information, resource information, play dates and field trips. This group is open to all homeschool families. All religious beliefs, or none at all, are welcome.     HEART exists to encourage and edify homeschooling families. Our vision is found in Proverbs 3:5-6. We offer Ladies' Meetings, Moms' Night Out, field trips, community service projects, and plenty of opportunities for supporting each other!

  • Heritage Homeschool Co-Op is a support group for homeschool families and serves Owasso, Oklahoma and surrounding areas (i.e. - Collinsville, Claremore, Verdigris Valley, Skiatook and Sperry). To become a member of our Co-Op, you must agree to our Christian bylaws, register with our Membership Coordinator and pay yearly dues. We encourage active participation in our Co-Op, so please only join if you are interested in becoming fully committed. Our Co-Op offers field trips, parties, school pictures, fellowship activities, holiday parties, monthly support meetings and LNO for moms, family events and special guest speakers.   • HERO of Lawton/Ft. Sill - We are a family friendly group open to any homeschooler that needs/wants support. We organize play days, field trips, karate classes, and many other opportunities for homeschool families. Our diverse group of families are from all walks of life.   • Logan County Homeschool Group. Any homeschoolers are welcome. We will have a Welcome Potluck picnic at the Crescent City Park in Crescent. Any questions please call 969-2620 for Angie or Chris.

  • Norman Secular Homeschool Association (NSHA) welcomes homeschooling families with children of all ages and homeschooling styles who seek to connect with others who share a secular approach to education.   • Norman Area Home Educators is an organization based in Norman, Oklahoma, that helps member homeschooling families find resources and share information, and offers occasional activities for the enrichment of our children's education.   • Okmulgee Area Home School Association. OAHSA is dedicated to serving home educators and their families. Our goal is to glorify Jesus Christ and to encourage parents in the training of their children to follow Jesus through home education. We hope to guide and help families to educate their children carefully in the way that would be pleasing to God. We maintain Christian leadership but membership is open to all.   • Osage Skiatook Christian Homeschool Association (OSCHA)
    We are a new non-profit support group in the Skiatook area with members from Sperry, Hominy, and Avant. Members must sign our statement of faith and agree to abide by our by-laws. We offer structured PE, field trips, holiday activities, and promotion night.

  • Pottawatomie County Home Educators Association (PCHEA). Serving Pott. County and the surrounding areas. PCHEA is Christian in orientation and leadership, but not exclusive in membership. We offer support and encouragement to homeschooling families in Shawnee and surrounding counties through various monthly activities, contests and field trips for our children, and a monthly newsletter and website.   • Proverbs 22:6 Home Educators, 7015 East 41st Street, Tulsa, OK 74145. Serving Tulsa and surrounding area. Contact: Jami:  (918) 622-2444 or jamiharl@cox.net. Open to anyone. No membership fees or forms to sign. Members should provide at least one volunteer service for the group. Proverbs 22:6 Home Educators support group exists to provide a support network for families who honor the seventh day Sabbath and have chosen to educate their children at home. Membership benefits include: Student public speaking; PE co-op; play-dates; educational field trips; e-mail loop; fun academic competitions; friendship and fellowship. Moms and Dads are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings together. Child care is available if needed.

  • Shawnee Home Educators: No membership fees. All families that have children birth to high school. Non-home schoolers welcomed.   • Tri-City Home Educators (TCHE) is a Christian organization serving Blanchard, Newcastle, Tuttle, and the surrounding areas, offering a variety of clubs, classes and activities designed specifically for the homeschool family. As a group, we desire to give support, encouragement and fellowship to all homeschool families in our aea. We would love to help your family on your own amazing educational journey!

  • Victory Home Educators, organized in 1999, serves the homeschooling families of Victory Christian Church and the surrounding community.
